Analytics

Client score, AI assistant and revenue dashboard.

Note

Analytics features are available on Solo and Pro plans. Upgrade from Dashboard → Settings → Plan.

Overview

The analytics dashboard gives you a clear picture of your business health: how fast clients respond, which clients generate the most revenue, and whether any project is about to slip.

Access it from Dashboard → Analytics.

Client score

Each client receives an automatic score from 0 to 10 based on their behavior across all shared projects:

SignalImpactWeight
Validation delayPositive40%
Acceptance ratePositive30%
Reactivity (response time)Positive20%
Fidelity (number of projects)Positive10%

The score is displayed as a badge on each client card:

  • 8–10 — Excellent client, fast and reliable
  • 5–7 — Average, occasional delays
  • 0–4 — Difficult, frequent friction

Tip

Use client scores to prioritize your best clients or to set different payment terms for lower-scoring ones.

AI recommendations Pro

The AI recommendations widget analyzes your dashboard data and surfaces actionable suggestions to help you improve your business performance.

What it analyzes

The assistant looks at trends across your key metrics:

Data sourceWhat it looks for
RevenueGrowth or decline patterns month over month
Conversion rateQuote-to-project conversion trends
Active projectsPipeline health and bottlenecks
Validation timesDelays that slow down your billing cycle
Client scoresClients who may need different terms or communication

How recommendations appear

Suggestions are displayed directly in the Analytics dashboard as a dedicated widget. Each recommendation includes a short rationale based on your actual data — not generic advice.

Click Regenerate at any time to refresh the analysis against your latest data.

Tip

Run a regeneration at the start of each month after reviewing your monthly report — the combination gives you both a backward look (report) and a forward-looking action plan (recommendations).

Note

Recommendations are generated by AI and are based on patterns in your data. They are suggestions, not instructions — use your own judgment before making business decisions.

Project alerts

The alert widget monitors your active projects and surfaces issues automatically with three severity levels:

  • Danger — urgent issues requiring immediate attention
  • Warning — items that need monitoring
  • Info — suggestions and insights

Alerts include project-specific issues with direct action links to resolve them.

Late project detection

Cliento automatically flags projects where the deadline has passed and the project is not yet completed. A Danger alert appears with a direct link to the project so you can update the timeline or notify your client.

Silent client alerts

If a client has not interacted with a project — no comments, no validations, no file activity — for an extended period, Cliento surfaces a Warning alert in the project alerts widget.

A silent client alert tells you: this client may be stuck, lost or disengaged. It gives you the nudge to reach out before the project stalls completely.

Tip

A quick "just checking in" message often unblocks a silent client immediately. The alert saves you from realising the delay too late.

Intelligent deadline suggestions

When you add a milestone without a due date, Cliento analyzes your history with similar projects and suggests a realistic deadline based on your past validation times and project rhythm.

The suggestion appears inline when setting or editing a milestone date — you can accept it with one click or ignore it and set your own.

Note

Deadline suggestions improve over time as you complete more projects. For new accounts with little history, suggestions are based on general averages.

Milestone analytics

The analytics dashboard shows aggregate metrics across all your projects:

MetricDescription
Validation rate% of milestones validated
Average validation timeDays between creation and validation
Task completion rate% of internal tasks completed

Use these to identify patterns — for example, if your validation time spikes with a specific client type, you may need clearer deliverable definitions.

Revenue forecast — next 3 months Solo / Pro

The revenue forecast widget gives you a forward-looking view of your expected income for the next three months, broken down by confidence level.

Access it from Dashboard → Analytics → Revenue forecast.

Revenue categories

Each amount in the forecast falls into one of four categories:

CategoryWhat it represents
CollectedInvoices already marked as paid
SecuredSent invoices not yet paid, and accepted quotes not yet converted
ExpectedUnpaid milestones with a due date and a set amount
At riskOverdue invoices or milestones from unresponsive clients

Note

When a milestone is already linked to an invoice, only the invoice is counted — not both — to avoid double-counting.

Monthly breakdown

The widget shows a month-by-month bar chart for the current month and the following two months. Each bar is stacked by category so you can see at a glance how much of your expected income is solid versus uncertain.

Low-income alerts

If a month has no forecasted revenue at all, a simple alert appears inline. This is a nudge to take action early — reach out to prospects, send pending quotes or plan an upsell with an existing client.

Tip

The forecast is most accurate when your milestones have due dates and amounts set. Milestones without a due date are not included.

Note

The forecast is based on your existing data (invoices, milestones, quotes) and does not use AI. It reflects what is already in Cliento, not a prediction of future work.

Annual activity report Pro

The annual report gives you a complete PDF summary of your business activity for a given year. Download it from Dashboard → Analytics → Download annual report, then select the year.

What the report includes

The report is two pages.

Page 1 — Summary covers your key metrics at a glance: total revenue with year-over-year growth, projects created and delivered, quote conversion rate, and milestone validation rate. Below the KPIs, a quarterly breakdown (T1–T4) shows revenue per quarter with comparison to the previous year. A bar chart displays monthly revenue for all 12 months, with the best and weakest months highlighted.

Page 2 — Clients & Analysis lists your top clients ranked by revenue, with their share of total revenue, number of projects, and number of payment transactions. New clients (not present the previous year) are tagged. Below the table, payment stats show paid invoices, pending invoices, and any overdue amounts. The page closes with an automatic narrative analysis — plain-language observations about growth, client concentration, conversion trends, and payment delays.

Year-over-year comparison

When data exists for the previous year, every major metric includes a delta: revenue growth in percentage, conversion rate change, validation rate change, and per-quarter comparison. Monthly bars show both years side by side so seasonal patterns are immediately visible.

Client concentration warning

If a single client represents 50% or more of your annual revenue, the analysis section flags it. Reducing dependency on one client is one of the most common risks for freelancers, and the report surfaces it explicitly.

Tip

The annual report is most useful once the year is complete. You can generate it at any point, but figures for the current year will be partial until December.

Note

The report is generated from your existing Cliento data — invoices, milestones, projects, and quotes. It does not use AI. Figures match exactly what you see in your Analytics dashboard.
